MARION, Ind. -- Andrew Stern was the top Siena Heights runner with a 28th-place finish as the Saints' men's cross country team opened its season at Indiana Wesleyan's Twilight Invitational on Friday.
Stern navigated the 8-kilometer course in 25 minutes, 50 seconds, as SHU placed 14th among 16 teams. The Saints scored a 388. Host IWU won the team championship with 18 points, led by Braden Sweet's 24:42. IWU runners placed 1-4.
The Saints are scheduled to return to competition on Friday, Sept. 15, at the Lourdes Invitational.
