Men's Cross Country Finishes 8th at WHAC Championships; Two Saints Earn WHAC Honors

FORT WAYNE, Ind. -- The Siena Heights men's cross country team finished eighth at the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) Championships on Saturday afternoon. The Saints accumulated 217 places to fall to the eighth spot on the team standings. 

Cornerstone won the championship with 18 points. Aquinas was second with 67, while UM-Dearborn claimed third with 81. Indiana Tech was fourth with 84 ahead of Lawrence Tech in fifth with 179. Madonna claimed sixth with 188, and Cleary finished in seventh with 197. The Saints completed the day ahead of Rochester, who was ninth with 233, Lourdes in 10 with 258, and Concordia (Mich.) in 11th with 350. 

Liam Hartsuff was the top finisher for SHU with a time of 27:09 for 30th as an individual. Jay Moore was 39th with a time of 27:56.5. Nethanel Leupold finished the race at 28:04 to claim 43rd, while Colin Metzger was 52nd with a 29:14. Jacob Harberts crossed the finish line in 53rd with a 29:17. Andrew Milosavlevski and Jacob Sand recorded times of 31:36 and 32:35 for 70th and 71st.

Hartsuff was the SHU representative on the WHAC Champions of Character team. Moore earned conference all-academic.
