Woldemichael Finishes 227th at the 2017 NAIA Cross Country National Championships

VANCOUVER, Wash. -- Siena Heights men's cross country runner Esrom Woldemichael finished 227th of 328 runners at the 2017 NAIA National Cross Country National Championships, presented by Nike, on Saturday.

Woldemichael crossed the finish line of the 8k course at the Fort Vancouver National Historic Site in 27:15.

The individual winner was Mark Shaw from Oklahoma City, finishing the course in 24:09, which was 10 seconds faster than the second place finisher. The winning team was British Columbia with a five-person average time of 24:52. The first Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference team to finish was Indiana Tech, taking 12th place with an average time of 26:06.

This was Woldemichael's first appearance at the NAIA National Cross Country National Championships.
