Men's XC Takes Seventh in National Catholic Invite College Division

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The Siena Heights men's cross country team placed seventh among 23 college division squads at the National Catholic Championships at Notre Dame (Ind.) on Friday.

Dominic Muessig was the Saints' top finisher, placing 30th among college-division runners and 93rd overall (college and NCAA Division I combined). He had a time of 26:58 on the eight-kilometer course.

Timothy Young finished 36th in the college division with a time of 27:09. Kyler Vanwormer was 51st in 27:36, Tyler Smar placed 55th in 27:50, and Parker Saenz took 91st in 29:21.

Chad Maloy of Canisius (N.Y.) was the top finisher among 276 total runners. He finished in 24:49.

Chris Striegel of Bellarmine (Ky.) was the top runner of the college division, placing runner-up with a 25:00.

The Saints scored 263 points. Loras (Iowa) was the winner of the college division with 39 points.
