YPSILANTI, Mich. -- The Siena Heights men's cross country team opened its season at the Eastern Michigan Celebration 5K at Eagle Crest Golf Club on Saturday.

Anthony Vermilye was the Saints' top finisher, placing 31st among the 186-runner field with a time of 15:59.5 on the 5-kilometer course.

Kyler Vanwormer placed 43rd in 16:13.0 and Dominic Muessig was 52nd with a 16:20.9. Rounding out SHU's top five finishers were Timothy Young, who was 68th in 16:30.5, and Tyler Smar, who placed 81st in 16:43.1.

Team results were not recorded for the event.
