Siena Heights University Athletic Director Sue Syljebeck announced the hire of Tim Ebbecke as SHU head men's volleyball coach on Wednesday, November 9, 2022. He is the fifth head coach in the history of the program.

"We are delighted to welcome Tim to Siena Heights University," said Syljebeck. "Tim's experience moved him to the top of our list, and I am thrilled that we were able to attract a coach of his caliber to lead our men's volleyball program."

Ebbecke comes to Siena Heights following a short stint at Elon University, where he was an assistant coach and the recruiting coordinator. Before Elon, Ebbecke was with The Citadel as an assistant coach for two years and was also on the Purdue University women's volleyball staff.

While with the Bulldogs, he coached the team to a 2021 conference championship and its first NCAA postseason berth. The 2021 season was also the first winning record for the program and boasted the most consecutive wins and the first-ever first-team all-league award winners.

"I want to thank the search committee and the players of this program for believing in me and my vision for this program," said Ebbecke. "I am really excited to take over a program that already has so many great pieces in place. This program has the ability to do something special, and I am ecstatic to be afforded this opportunity. I can't wait to hit the ground running and help take Siena Heights University Men's Volleyball to the next level."

In addition to his collegiate coaching experience, Ebbecke has almost a decade of experience coaching at the high school, club, and junior levels of competition.

Ebbecke was an NCAA Division I student-athlete at the University of Mount Olive. He received all-conference team honors, led the team statistically, and was the male scholar-athlete of the year. He received his bachelor's degree in criminal justice and psychology in May 2013 from Mount Olive before pursuing a master's degree in science interdisciplinary studies from Texas Tech University.
