Men's Volleyball Brooms Saint Mary Woods For Second Straight Day

SAINT-MARY-OF-THE-WOODS, Ind. -- The Siena Heights men's volleyball team swept WHAC opponent Saint-Mary-of-the-Woods for the second straight day on Saturday. Set scores in favor of the Saints were 25-20, 25-11, 28-26.

Marc Arsenault had 10 kills and Jakob Pickett put down eight for the Saints (7-7, 5-5), who have won 4 of 5. Zak Tucker made 28 assists. Jonathan Stovring hammered four aces and Francesc Baza smashed three.

SHU used long runs to take charge in each of the three sets. In the first, the Saints broke an 14-14 tie with five straight points. Arsenault had three kills as SHU took that lead through the end of the set.

Siena Heights broke the second set open behind the service of Kisner. It turned a 9-8 lead into 18-8 with nine straight points and cruised to take a 2-0 match advantage.

The Saints had trailed 13-9 in the third before coming back with an 8-point run. Later in the set, SHU held match point on four separate occasions before finishing out the day.

SHU will return to action on Tuesday with a 7 p.m. match at WHAC opponent Aquinas.
