Men's Volleyball Wins in Four at Goshen

GOSHEN, Ind. -- The Siena Heights men's volleyball team came through with a 3-1 victory over WHAC opponent Goshen on Friday night. Set scores, in favor of the Saints, were 20-25, 25-22, 25-21, 25-20.

Daniel Rua had 13 kills and Jonathan Stovring smacked 11 kills for the Saints (4-6, 2-4). Rasi Bailey added eight kills and five blocks. Jakob Pickett made seven kills.

Zak Tucker set 41 assists and hammered four aces. Jacob Kisner dug 11 attacks.

SHU trailed most of the way in the opening set, pulling into a 19-19 tie before the host Maple Leafs ran off the first with a 6-1 run.

The Saints evened the match at 1-1 in the second. They ran past Goshen with a 7-0 stretch, getting three kills from Bailey, to take a 20-16 lead before the Leafs knotted the set at 22-22. SHU had the next three points.

Siena Heights battled through 13 ties to take the third set. It broke a 15-all knot when a 5-1 stretch and led through the set.

The fourth set was back-and-forth with eight early ties. SHU broke an 8-8 score with six straight points and led the rest of the way. Tucker had two aces, one kill and one assist in that streak.

The Saints have a quick turnaround with a 3 p.m. WHAC contest at Bethel on Saturday.
