Men's Volleyball Drops Contest at Cornerstone

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- The Siena Heights men's volleyball team lost a three-set match to Cornerstone during WHAC action on Tuesday night. Set scores were 25-20, 25-20, 25-17.

Marc Arsenault led the SHU offense with nine kills. Jakob Pickett added eight kills and Zak Tucker made 31 assists.

Jacob Kisner served for two aces and Joudiel Poveymirow totaled 13 digs.

The first two sets played out in similar fashion, right down to identical scores.

The opening set included 12 ties before the host Golden Eagles broke a 14-14 tie with a four-point run. Cornerstone held through the rest of the first.

In the second, eight ties came about before another 14-14 knot was broken by a five-point Eagle stretch.

Cornerstone took the lead for good earlier in the third set, breaking open a 3-3 score with a 4-0 streak.

David Galanes led all attackers with 15 kills for the Golden Eagles (9-1, 4-1).

Siena Heights will compete again this weekend with a pair of conference home matches against St. Mary-of-the-Woods. Times are 8 p.m. Friday and 1 p.m. Saturday.
