ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Siena Heights men's volleyball found success during the first day of the Siena Heights Tournament where the Saints face Cincinnati Christian. SHU defeated the Eagles 3-1 with set scores of 25-19, 26-28, 25-19 and 25-20.

All four sets were relatively close, neither team gaining a lead of more than seven points over the other.

In set one, the Saints jumped out to an early 5-1 lead that CCU was never able to recover from.

SHU went up 14-11 in the second set, but was quickly caught up to at 15-15. The back-and-forth rally ended in the Eagles favor at 28-26 for the second match.

In the final two games, SHU gained a five point lead at the 15-point mark and kept control of both sets from that point forward.

With 14 kills each, the Saints were led by Matthew Dugan and John Kalugar, both also adding six digs. Keegan Crawford earned 43 assists for Siena Heights and seven digs. Leading SHU in digs was Tyler Hubbard-Neil with 12, tacking on eight kills, six block-assists and five serving aces.

Leading the Eagles (6-3) was Lance Wiles with 25 kills and Logan Webber with 21 kills. Earning 48 assists and 13 digs for Cincinnati Christian was Michael Hiroskey.

Next up, the Saints (7-1) will continue in the Siena Heights Tournament on Saturday with matches against Campbellsville (Ky.) and Cardinal Stritch (Wis.) at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., respectively.
