Hardmen Career Mark Not Enough to Get Saints Past #7 Lourdes

ADRIAN, Mich. -- In a very loud and full SHU Fieldhouse the first place, and 7th ranked, Lourdes Gray Wolves were able to beat Siena Heights on senior night. The Saints lost 25-19, 25-22, and 25-13.

Besides senior night, the other story line was that the Saints could tie Lourdes for the conference title if they could pull off the upset. However, the Gray Wolves (21-3, 6-0) offense and great defense proved to be a little to much for the Saints. The games were very competitive but Siena Heights could just not break through in any set.

Tyler Hubbard-Neil and Matthew Dugan led the Saints attack with eight and seven kills, respectively. Jeff Hardman tallied 21 assists, two solo blocks and three block assists on the night. John Kalugar led the defense with 18 digs, while Dugan also tallied 10.

With the three block assists Hardman set career record at 135. Brandon Bowers held the previous mark at 133.

The Saints (16-7, 3-2) will travel Cincinnati Christian to maintain second place in the MEC on Saturday.
