Saints Beat Cougars and Panthers

ADRIAN, Mich. - Playing two home games during the spring break weekend, the Saints men's volleyball team beat both the St. Xavier Cougars and the Davenport Panthers.  Siena Heights won both matches in convincing 3-0 fashion.

First, the Saints faced off with the Cougars.  The Saints used seven serve aces to make big runs in several games as they won 25-13, 25-19, 25-22.  Saint Xavier also had no answer for the Saints offense as they hit .739, .100, and .229 in each game.  Overall Siena Heights hit .346 in the match.

Tyler Hubbard-Neil led the Saints with 13 kills on 20 attacks. He also tied Matthew Duggan with three serve aces.  Duggan chipped in eight kills and led the team with 14 digs.  Jeff Hardman racked up 31 assists.

Sean Barry led the Cougars attack with 13 kills.

In their second match of the day, Siena Heights faced off with the Davenport Panthers.  This game was rescheduled to this date because of a snow out a few weeks ago.  On this day the Saints attack stayed hot as they hit .289 overall.  They won 25-14, 25-20, and 25-18.

Hubbard-Neil led the team with nine kills, followed again by Duggan with eight.  Hardman tallied 18 assists, while Arthur Gwoszdz came in to pick up 11 assists himself.

Nathaniel Vander Mee led Davenport with 12 kills.

Siena Heights pushes this record to 11-6 overall.  The Saints will be at home again on Wednesday when they host Olivet College at 7 pm.
