Saints Drop a Pair of Home Non-Conference Games

ADRIAN, Mich. - The Siena Heights men's volleyball team dropped a pair of matches on Saturday. First the Saints lost a five set thriller to Cardinal Stritch (Wis.), and then a four game match to Robert Morris (Ill.).

In the first match, the Saints started off by taking the first two games from Cardinal Stritch 25-23 and 25-14. In the third game, the Saints were simply out hit as the Wolves (7-6, 2-1) won the set 25-21. Siena Heights then hit a bit of an attacking slump and lost the last two sets, 25-13 and 15-10.

Tyler Hubbard-Neil led all attackers in the match with 16 kills. Matthew Dugan was right behind him with 15 kills. Jeff Hardman tallied 37 assists and Hubbard-Neil picked up 11 digs.

In the second match, the faced a powerful attacking Robert Morris lineup and lost 3-1. The Saints lost set one 25-19, but rallied to win set two 26-24. In the final two sets the Saints just could not amass enough offense to hang with the Eagles (17-4, 3-0) and lost 25-18 and 25-12.

Dugan led the Saints with 13 kills, while Hardman picked up 27 mores assists. John Kalugar led the defense with 17 digs.

Siena Heights (7-6, 2-1) will be back in action on Wednesday Feb. 24 when they host Davenport at 7 pm.
