Gipple Places Fifth, Takes All-American in Long Jump

BROOKINGS, S.D. -- Matthew Gipple earned All-American status in the long jump after placing fifth in the event as the Siena Heights men's track and field team began competition on Friday during the NAIA Indoor Championships at the Jackrabbit Athletic Complex.

Gipple distanced 7.33 meters (24-0 3/4) to reach the long jump podium. He also competed in the 60-meter dash and finished 29th among 39 competitors in preliminaries with a time of 6.91 seconds.

Jordan Harris took 27th out of 34 in the weight throw. His top toss was 16.24m (53-3 1/2).

Noah Cunningham finished 31rd out of 35 in the 60 hurdles with a time of 8.47 seconds.

In team scoring after Friday, the Saints are tied for 19th with four points.
