Tyler Wins Long Jump, Harris Hits Provisional in Weight Throw at WHAC/MIAA Challenge

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- Savion Tyler won the high jump, helping the Siena Heights men's indoor track and field team place fifth at the WHAC/MIAA Challenge.

Tyler cleared 1.97 meters (6 feet, 5 1/2 inches) to best the high-jump field. Teammate Roman Iott was fifth with a 1.82m (5-11 1/2).

Jordan Harris claimed an NAIA provisional-qualifying mark in the weight throw with a distance of 17.06m (55-11 3/4). He was runner-up.

Pole vaulter Alan Alston cleared 4.00m (13-1 1/2) for runner-up in his event.

Matthew Gipple competed at the GVSU Big Meet, hitting an NAIA auto distance of 7.15m (23-5 1/2) in the long jump to place sixth. He already holds an auto in the event.
