Men's T&F Takes Third, Wins Four Events at Grand Rapids HOF Classic

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- Matthew Gipple won two events while Andrew Stern and Savion Tyler added one win apiece as the Siena Heights men's indoor track and field team placed third at the Grand Rapids Hall of Fame Classic on Friday.

Gipple placed first in the 60- and 200-meter dashes to lead the Saints. His time in the 60 was 6.87 seconds while his time in the 200 was 22.20. Teammates Donovan Miller (23.68) and John Buchanan (23.81) finished the 200 in fourth and fifth, respectively.

Stern raced the 5,000 in 16:14.16 to hit the tape first in that event. Tyler cleared 1.92 meters (6 feet, 3 1/2 inches) in the high jump.

SHU had two Top 5 finishers in the weight throw as Jordan Harris reached 16.59m (54-5 1/4) for second place and Elijah Collins distanced 15.37m (50-5 1/4) for fifth.

Luke Vanassche placed third in the 3,000 with a 10:08.38.

Nikolas Hammond stretched 6.35m (20-10) for fifth place in the long jump

Pole vaulters Logan Hollingsworth and Caleb Greear cleared 4.00m (13-1 1/2) for fifth and sixth, respectively.
