Siena Heights men's track and field athlete Matthew Gipple was named WHAC Indoor Field Athlete of the Week, as announced by the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference on Monday.

Gipple was the lone winner for the Saints on Saturday during the Hillsdale Wide-Track Classic, taking first place in the long jump with an NAIA automatic-qualifying distance of 7.33 meters (24 feet, 0 3/4 inches). It marked a 0.26m improvement over his previous season-best auto.

Gipple also placed runner-up in the 60-meter dash in 6.97 seconds.
