Gipple's Three Wins Lead Men's T&F at Flaminio Classic

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- Matthew Gipple recorded three individual wins while Jordan Harris had two as the Siena Heights men's indoor track and field team won 10 individual events Friday at Aquinas' Flaminio Classic.

Gipple was victorious in the 60- and 200-meter dashes and the long jump. Harris won the shot put and weight throw.

Gipple clocked in at 6.91 seconds in the 60 and 22.30 in the 200. His distance in the long jump was 6.89 meters (22-7 1/4).

In the shot, Harris reached 13.24m (43-5 1/4) while, in the weight throw, he hit a season-best 15.44m (50-8).

Other winners for the Saints included Jacob Buchanan (400), Blake Schroeder (800), Andrew Stern (3,000), Caleb Greear (pole vault) and the 4x400 relay team.

Buchanan finished the 400 in a season-best time of 52.97. In the 800, Schroeder hit the tape in 2:03.04 to edge runner-up teammate Tyler Landis, who ran in 2:03.50.

Stern ran the 3K in 9:29.10 and Greear vaulted over the bar at 3.80m (12-5 1/2).

The winning 4x400 consisted of Gabriel Iott, Nethanel Leupold, Henry Frederick and Landis. Its time was 3:41.13.
