Men's Track and Field Wins Four Events At Grand Rapids HOF Classic

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- The Siena Heights men's indoor track and field team combined to win four individual events on Friday at Aquinas' Grand Rapids Sports Hall of Fame Classic.

Noah Cunningham improved on an NAIA automatic-qualifying time in the 60-meter hurdles. He won the event in 8.16 seconds, and improvement of .03 on his time.

Jacob Harberts, Abdullah Nassr and Jefferson Edwards also had wins. Harberts did so in the mile with a time of 4:18.45 while Nassr claimed the 600 in 1:22.44. Edwards tossed the shot put 14.16 meters (46 feet-5 1/2 inches).

Edwards was also runner-up in the weight throw with 16.11 meters (52-10 1/4). Teammates Jordan Harris (13.30m, 43-7 3/4) and Elijah Collins (12.78m, 41-11 1/4) were fourth and fifth, respectively.

Matthew Gipple ran the fastest time in the 60 dash prelims with 6.93 seconds, but sat out the finals. He placed second in the long jump with a distance of 6.70m (21-11 3/4). He is already an auto qualifer in both events.

Saints placed 2-3-4 in the 800, led by Cedric Grant (2:01.57). Nethanel Leupold was third in 2:03.72 and Tyler Landis took fourth in 2:06.37.

Wyatt Wesley placed third in the pole vault at 4.07 meters (13-4 1/4) and Donovan Miller had fourth-place finishes in the 60 and 200 in 7.24 and 23.38 seconds.
