Men's Track and Field's Gipple Wins Three Events at Hillsdale

HILLSDALE, Mich. -- Siena Heights men's track and field athlete Matthew Gipple won three events at the Hillsdale Wide Track Classic, which took place Friday and Saturday.

Gipple was victorious in the 60- and 200-meter dashes. He also placed first in the long jump.

Noah Cunningham added a win in the 60 hurdles and SHU's distance medley relay team of Cedric Grant, Jacob Sand, Abdullah Nassr and Jacob Harberts also won.

Gipple's winning 60 time of 6.85 seconds is an NAIA automatic-qualifying time. He was previously a provisional qualifier.

Gipple had a provisional distance in the long jump with 7.03 meters (23-0 3/4). He is already an auto qualifer in that event.

Gipple's time in the 200 was 22.16 seconds.

Cunningham crossed the line in 8.21 seconds in the 60 hurdles, an auto time. His season-best is 8.19.

The DMR team won its event in 10:32.62.

Tyler Landis finished runner-up in the mile, clocking in at 4:36.07.

Jefferson Edwards was fifth in the weight throw with a toss of 15.82 meters (51-11).
