GULF SHORES, Alabama – The NAIA National Championships conclude on day three, with Zachary Gipple and Timothy Werner competing for Siena Heights University in field events.
Gipple participated in the shot put, throwing a distance of 16.48 meters to place eighth overall, earning the title of NAIA All-American. Werner competed in the pole vault event at 2:00 PM and unfortunately did not make the top 15.
The Saints finished the 2022 Outdoor Track and Field season with a Newcomer of the Year award, two Field Athlete of the Week awards and one Track Athlete of the Week award. Siena, had five athletes on the WHAC All-Academic Team as well as four members on the First Team-All WHAC roster. Five of the SHU men's Track and Field team earned Second Team-All WHAC awards, while five more earned WHAC All-Conference Honorable Mentions. The Saints also had one athlete also earned a spot on the Champions of Character Team. Totaling 24 team awards during the 2022 outdoor season.
