SHU Clinches 3rd in WHAC Championship

Grand Rapids, MICH. ---Siena Heights Men's Indoor Track and Field compete on day two of the WHAC Indoor Championships, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Saturday, February 19th. The Saints finished third overall in the tournament with a score of, 117.5 points falling to Indiana Tech University who took first with a total of 218 points and Cornerstone University in second with 150 points.

Matthew Gipple took second place in the men's 60-meter dash with a finishing time of 6.96 seconds, earning him a Second Team-All WHAC honor. Abdullah Nassr also earned a Second Team-All WHAC honor in the 600-meter race running a 1:22.99 to take second overall. Andrew Milosavlevski competed in the 600-meter race to earn a sixth placemark with a finish of 1:26.18The team of Davion Curry, Cedric Grant, Joshua Cundy, and Abdullah Nassr finished in second in the 4x400 meter race to earn each athlete a Second Team-All WHAC honor, the total time was 3:24.26

The Saints took third in the one mile and 1,000-meter race, thanks to Jacob Harberts who earn himself a WHAC Honorable Mention in both competitions with a run of 4:20.28 in the one mile and 2:32.80 in the 1,000 meters. Davion Curry clinched third in the triple jump, leaping a distance of 14.20 meters as well as earning an Honorable Mention. SHU saw two top-five finishes in the 800-meter dash, in third was Joshua Cundy with a run of 1:59.67, earning an Honorable Mention and a fourth place mark from Cedric Grant with a time of 2:00.94. Liam Harstuff saw fifth in the 3,000-meter finishing at 9:05.44. While Jacob Sand took fifth in the 400-meter dash with a run of 51.96. the 5,000-meter race witnessed a fifth place mark from Liam Hartsuff at a time of 15:39.79 and a sixteenth place finish from Nethanel Leupold with a time of 16:58.83
