Matthew Gipple Wins the 60-Meter and Long Jump as Saints Kick-Off the Indoor Season at SVSU

SAGINAW, Mich. -- Matthew Gipple achieved an A-standard mark in both the 60-meter run (6.89) and the long jump (7.09m [23'3.25"]) as he won both of those events at the Saginaw Valley State Holiday Open and Multis on Saturday. 

Zachary Gipple won the shot put with a heave of 16.33m (53'7"), an A-standard mark.

The 4x400 relay team of Joshua Cundy, Jacob Sand, Matthew Gipple, and Davion Curry finished the race in 3:24.68 to finish second. Alan Alston was second in the pole vault with a height of 4.24m (13'11").

Sebastian Hamilton threw the shot put 14.62m (47'11.75") for third and the weight 15.06m (49'5") for fourth. Davion Curry jumped 6.91m (22'8") in the long jump to finish fourth. Jefferson Edwards placed third in the weight throw with a toss of 15.22m (49'11.25"). Jefferson was also fifth in the shot put with a throw of 13.78m (45'2.5"). Noah Cunningham was fourth in the 200-meter run with a time of 23.00 seconds. Abdullah Nassr ran the 600-meter run in 1:24.78 for fourth. Cedric Grant was also fourth in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:02.12. The other 4x400 relay team of Nathan Parker, Andrew Milosavlevski, Noah Cunningham, and Cedric Grant finished fourth with a time of 3:32.68.

Andrew Milosavlevski crossed the finish line in the 800-meter run in 2:03.55 to place fifth in the event. 

Jacob Sand (600m, 6th, 1:27.34), Jacob Harberts (mile, 7th, 4:32.27), Colin Metzger (3k, 8th, 9:58.10), and Nethanel Leupold (3k, 10th, 9:58.10) each finished in the top-10 of their events.
