Zach Gipple Tabbed WHAC Champion as Team Finishes Third at WHAC Outdoor Championships; 13 Other Saints Earn Honors

FORT WAYNE, Ind. -- The Siena Heights men's track and field team finished third with a team score of 123.5 points as 14 Saints earned WHAC Honors at the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) Outdoor Track and Field Championships hosted by Indiana Tech on Thursday and Friday afternoon.

ALL-WHAC FINISHES

Zachary Gipple won the shot put with a distance of 16.41m (53' 10.25") earning him a spot on the All-WHAC First-Team and propelled him to 13th in the NAIA.

Noah Cunningham placed second in the javelin with a heave of 49.92m (163' 9") earning an All-WHAC Second-Team honor. 

Zach Kunst recorded a second-place finish in the discus with a distance of 44.45m (145' 10") for All-WHAC Second-Team. He also earned All-WHAC Honorable Mention as he had a third-place finish with a distance of 51.44m (168' 9") in the hammer. 

Sebastian Hamilton had a distance of 14.26m (46' 9.5") in the shot put finishing in third and earning All-WHAC Honorable Mention. 

Matthew Gipple competed in the long jump with a distance of 6.76m (22' 2.25") placing third and good for All-WHAC Honorable Mention.

Liam Hartsuff had a time of 34:19.70 in the 10,000m claiming All-WHAC Honorable Mention finishing in third. 

The 4x800 relay team consisting of Jacob Sand, Abdullah Nassr, Jordan Parkinson, and Cedric Grant earned All-WHAC Honorable Mention as they placed third with a time of 8:09.02

The 4x400 relay team of Jacob Sand, Nathan Parker, Cedric Grant, and Naythan Haslam had a time of 3:27.30 finishing in third and good for All-WHAC Honorable Mention.

The 4x100 relay team consisting of Jason Baird, Naythan Haslam, Davion Curry, and Matthew Gipple placed third with a time of 42.69 claiming All-WHAC Honorable Mention. 

OTHER TOP 5 FINISHES

Zach Kunst competed in the shot put with a fourth-place finish earning a distance of 14.19m (46' 6.75").

Matthew Gipple placed fourth in the 100m with a time of 10.98 seconds. 

Davion Curry had a distance of 6.66m (21' 10.25") in the long jump earning fourth place.

Cedric Grant earned a time of 1:58.39 in the 800m for fifth place. 

Jacob Sand competed in the 400 hurdles finishing with a time of 58.15 seconds claiming fifth. 

Timothy Werner cleared the bar at a height of 4.30m (14' 1.25") in the pole vault placing fifth.

The Saints will compete in the Last Chance Meet hosted by Indiana Tech University in Fort Wayne, Indiana on Thursday, May 6th through Saturday, May 8th.
