Noah Cunningham Breaks School Record in Javelin to Highlight Meets at Hillsdale and Concordia

HILLSDALE/ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The Siena Heights men's outdoor track and field team had members compete in both the Hillsdale Gina Relays and the Concordia Legacy Invitational over the weekend. Members of the Saints competed in the first two days of the Gina Relays on Thursday and Friday with the team then moving to compete in Ann Arbor, Michigan at the Concordia Legacy Invitational. The team won the meet at Concordia with a score of 188.00 and there were nine teams competing at the meet. Noah Cunningham highlighted the weekend as he broke the school record at Hillsdale in the javelin with an 'A-Standard' distance of 58.98m (193' 6"). The previous school record was 187' 9" set by Travis Dershied in 2013.

TOP 5 FINISHERS

HILLSDALE

Matthew Gipple finished second in the long jump with a distance of 6.62m (21' 8.75").

Zachery Kunst had a distance of 51.76m (169' 10") good for a 'B-Standard' in the hammer earning second place. He also earned fifth in the javelin with a distance of 43.52m (142' 9").

Jefferson Edwards threw the hammer for fifth place with a throw of 44.86m (147' 2").

CONCORDIA

Matthew Gipple had a time of 11.27 in the 100m winning the 100m. He also won the long jump with a 6.42m (21' 0.75") distance.

Naythan Haslam placed first in the 400m recording a time of 50.85 seconds.

Cedric Grant finished atop the 800m earning a time of 1:59.00.

Jacob Sand was the victor in the 400 hurdles with a time of 57.79 seconds.

Zachary Gipple had an auto throw of 16.23m (53' 3") in the shot put good for first place. He also placed fourth in the discus with a distance of 41.65m (136' 8").

Zachery Kunst had a provo in the discus with a distance of 48.53m (159' 3") for the win. He also threw the hammer for 50.68m (166' 3") for first. He also competed in the javelin earning fourth place earning a distance of 40.54m (133' 0").

Noah Cunningham rounded out the first place finished with a hurl of 54.52m (178' 10"). He also had a leap of 6.32m (20' 9") in the long jump for second place. He also had a time of 17.86 seconds in the 110 hurdles earning fifth.

Liam Hartsuff recorded a second-place finish in the 5000m with a time of 16:02.85.

The 4x100 relay team consisting of Jason Baird, Matthew Gipple, Naythan Haslam, and Noah Cunningham earned second with a time of 43.57 seconds.

The 4x400 relay team consisting of Naythan Haslam, Nathan Parker, Cedric Grant, and Jacob Sand recorded a time of 3:26.66 for second place.

Elijah Kimmons cleared the bar at 1.93m (6' 4") in the high jump for second place.

Jason Baird cleared the pole at a distance of 3.65m (11' 11.75") finished in second. He also had a time of 16.54 seconds in the 110 hurdles placing fourth. He had a throw of 13.44m (44' 1.25") in the shot-put earning fifth.

Sebastian Hamilton recorded a distance of 13.65m (44' 9.5") in the shot put for second place. He also had a fifth-place finish in the hammer with a distance of 44.32m (145' 5").

Jordan Parkinson competed in the 500m recording a time of 4:18.52 earning third place.

Jefferson Edwards had a distance of 13.44m (44' 1.23") in the shot put for fourth place.
