Men's Track and Field Claims First at Aquinas Invitational

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- The Siena Heights men's indoor track and field team finished atop the team standings out of six teams with 143 points at the Aquinas Invitational. The Saints won seven of the 16 events that were scored, seven athletes earned personal records in their respective events, one earned an A-Standard, and one earned a B-Standard. Matthew Gipple (Fr. | Coldwater, Mich.) highlighted the day for Siena as he won both the 60-meter dash (7.17 seconds) and the 200-meter dash (23.35) seconds both of which were personal records. 

OTHER TOP 5 FINISHES

Cedric Grant (So. | Clinton, Mich.) won the 800m with a time of 2:03.13. Liam Hartsuff (Jr. | Chelsea, Mich.) had a time of 9:09.67 in the 3000m for first place. Rees Nemeth (Sr. | Hillsdale, Mich.) completed the pole vault with a height of 4.65m/15' 3" to claim first in the event. That mark earned him a "B-Standard" and propelled him to be tied 11th in the NAIA. Davion Curry (Sr. | Detroit, Mich.) earned a personal record in the triple jump with a distance of 13.27m (43' 6.5") placing him in first. He also placed second in the 60-meter dash (7.20 seconds) and fourth in the long jump (6.36m/20' 10.5"). Zachary Gipple (So. | Coldwater, Mich.) recorded an "A-Standard" in the shot put with a distance of 15.81m/51' 10.5" that earned him first place, a personal record, and 13th in the NAIA. He also finished fifth in the weight throw (12.62m/41' 5"), which was also a personal record. 

Jacob Sand (Fr. | Macomb, Mich.) achieved second in the 400m with a time of 53.14 seconds. Sebastian Hamilton (Jr. | Colon, Mich.) claimed second in the shot put with a distance of 13.74m/45' 1". He also recorded a third-place finish in the weight throw with a distance of 14.59m/47' 10.5". 

Timothy Werner (Jr. | Temperance, Mich.) cleared the bar at a height of 4.35m/14' 3.25" in the pole vault to claim third in the event. Noah Cunningham placed fourth in the 200m with a time of 23.68 seconds. Colin Metzger (Fr. | Wyandotte, Mich.) achieved a personal record of 2:15.65 in the 800m for fourth place. The 4x400 relay team consisting of Noah Cunningham, Jacob Sand, Cedric Grant, and Jordan Parkinson claimed fourth in the event with a time of 3:36.62.

Jason Baird (Sr. | Lake Fenton, Mich.) recorded a fifth-place finish in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.45 seconds. Naythan Haslam (Jr. | Wyandotte, Mich.) tallied fifth place in the 200m (24.25 seconds) and 400m (57.22 seconds). Jordan Parkinson (Sr. | Coldwater, Mich.) recorded a personal record in the 1000m with a time of 2:37.44 claiming fifth place. Bradley Bauer (Sr. | Crestline, Ohio) achieved fifth place in the mile with a time of 4:58.73. Nathan Parker (So. | Macomb, Mich.) was fifth in the high jump with a distance of 1.76m/5' 9.25".
