Men's Track and Field Places Second at Aquinas Classic

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- The Siena Heights men's track and field team finished second at the Aquinas Classic on Saturday, January 30th with 126 points. Six Saints won events and all saints who competed in the meet finished in the top five of their respective events.

TOP FINISHERS

Cedric Grant (So. | Clinton, Mich.) earned first place in the 800m with a time of 2:02.13. Liam Hartsuff (Jr. | Chelsea, Mich.) won the 3000m with a time of 9:37.06. He also placed fifth in the mile with a time of 4:43.64. Timothy Werner (Jr. | Temperance, Mich.) won the pole vault clearing the pole at 4.35m (14' 3.25") earning him a personal record and 16th in the NAIA. Zachary Gipple (So. | Coldwater, Mich.) had a distance of 15.46m (50' 8.75') to win the shot put. He also placed fifth in the weight throw with a distance of 11.87m (38' 11.5"). Jacob Sand (Fr. | Macomb, Mich.), Liam Hartsuff, Cedric Grant, and Jordan Parkinson (Sr. | Coldwater, Mich.) won the 4x400 relay with a time of 3:45.38. 

Matthew Gipple (Fr. | Coldwater, Mich.) placed second in the 60m with a time of 7.42 seconds. He also finished third in the 200m with a time of 24.38 seconds. Noah Cunningham had a time of 23.98 seconds in the 200m for second place. Nathan Parker (So. | Macomb, Mich.) earned second place in the 400m with a time of 56.46 seconds. He also finished second in the high jump with a distance of 1.76m (5' 9.25") earning him a personal record. Jordan Parkinson finished second in the mile with a time of 4:37.92. He also placed fourth in the 800m with a time of 2:06.31. Sebastian Hamilton had a distance of 14.25m (46' 9") in the shot put earning him a personal record and 14.97m (49' 1.5") in the weight throw for second place in both. 

Jacob Sand had a time of 1:26.53 in the 600m for fourth place for a personal record. Jason Baird (Sr. | Lake Fenton, Mich.) earned fourth place in the shot put with a distance of 17.81m (42' 0.5") for a personal record.
