Men's Track and Field Adds New A-Standard at IWU Midwest Classic

MARION, Ind. -- The Siena Heights men's indoor track and field team competed at the Indiana Wesleyan Midwest Classic on Saturday and added an A-Standard.

TOP FINISHERS

Naythan Haslam (Sophomore, Wyndotte, Mich.) was the lone event winner for the Saints as he auto-qualified in the 400m with a time of 49.54 that propelled him to third in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) and 12th in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA). He also finished third in the 200m with a time of 22.73 that places him ninth in the WHAC. 

Liam Hartsuff (Sophomore, Chelsea, Mich.) finished with a time of 16:14.89 in the 5k for third place. He's currently third in the WHAC in the 5k with his finish earlier in the season at the SVSU Holiday Open. 

Brenden Knoll (Sophomore, Zeeland, Mich.) placed third in the shot put with a distance of 14.30m (41' 11"). He is currently sixth in the WHAC in the shot put with his finish earlier in the season at the Larry Cole Invitational.

Zach Kunst (Senior, Grand Rapids, Mich.) earned a distance of 16.19m (53' 1.5") in the shot put for third place. He currently sits in third place in the WHAC in the shot put with his performance earlier in the season at the SVSU Holiday Open. 

Jefferson Edwards (Sophomore, Toledo, Ohio) earned the fourth place right behind Kunst in the shot put with a distance of 16.07m (52' 8.75"). He's currently in seventh place in the WHAC in the shot put with his performance earlier in the season at the SVSU Holiday Open.

Rees Nemeth (Junior, Hillsdale, Mich.) cleared the bar at 4.50m (14' 9") for fourth place in the pole vault. He leads the WHAC in the pole vault with his finish at the SVSU Holiday Open.

Jordan Parkinson (Junior, Coldwater, Mich.) finished sixth in the 800m with a time of 2:00.78 that propelled him in seventh place in the WHAC. 

Davion Curry (Junior, Detroit, Mich.) earned a distance of 6.61m (21' 8.25") in the long jump for seventh place. He's currently in second place in the WHAC and 19th in the NAIA in the long jump with his performance at the SVSU Classic.

Shane Skelcy (Senior, Rochester, Mich.) earned eighth in the 5k with a time of 16:47.27 that lifted him to 10th place in the WHAC.

Cedric Grant (Freshman, Clinton, Mich.) finished with a time of 2:01.67 in the 800m for a ninth-place that placed him in ninth in the WHAC.

Jason Baird (Junior, Lake Fenton, Mich.) finished 10th in the pole vault clearing the bar at 3.90m (12' 9.5"). He currently sits in 10th in the WHAC in the pole vault with his finish at the Larry Cole Invitational. Benjamin Hubbell (Sophomore, Jackson, Mich.) placed 10th in the shot put with a distance of 12.75m (41' 10").
