Men's Track and Field Gain Three Automatic Qualifiers at MSU Spartan Invitational

EAST LANSING, Mich. -- The Siena Heights men's outdoor track and field team had three automatic qualifiers on the weekend at the Michigan State University Spartan Invitational on Friday and Saturday. Brent Rodden highlighted the meet with a first place, "A-Standard" time of 1:52.01 in the 800-meter run. That mark ranks him third in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) performance list. Keith Jordan Jr. won the high jump in his first meet this season by clearing the bar at 2.11m (6' 11") for an "A-Standard" mark and the second-best jump in the country. 

The 4x400 relay team consisting of Garret Young, Naythan Haslam, William Jackson, and Brent Rodden finished second with a time of 3:23.79. Robert Milton was third in the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.14. Haslam was also third in the 400-meter run with a 49.80 mark.

Robert Drew improved his "A-Standard" throw in the shot put with a 16.09m (52' 9.5") heave this week. That mark puts him 11th overall in the NAIA. He also had a "B-Standard" throw in the discus with 48.76m (160' 0") for 10th which is 11th in the country.

Zachary Kunst was sixth in the javelin with a throw of 47.07m (154' 6"). He is ranked 23rd in the event nationally. Rees Nemeth was eighth in the pole vault by clearing the bar at 4.42m (14' 6").
