CEDARVILLE, Ohio -- The Siena Heights outdoor track and field team opened the season with a good showing at the Cedarville Yellow Jacket Collegiate Outdoor Open on Saturday finished sixth out of 14 teams with 39 points. Robert Drew highlighted the men's day with a win in the shot put with an "A-Standard" throw of 16.03m (52' 7.25").
Devonte Johnson reached "B-Standard" in the pole vault by clearing the bar at a height of 4.65m (15' 3"). That mark was good for second place. Naythan Haslam also tallied a second-place finish in the 400-meter run with a time of 50.36.
Andrew Trombley cleared the pole vault bar at a height of 3.90m (12' 9.5") for third place.
Brent Rodden was sixth in the 1500-meter run with a time of 4:08.77. Brenden Knoll finished seventh in the shot put with a heave of 13.85m (45' 5.25"). Benjamin Hubbell was eighth in the shot put (13.72m [45' 0.25"]) and Tyler Ross was ninth (13.60m [44' 7.5"]). Zachery Kunst finished off the top-10 finishes for the Saints with a ninth-place result in the javelin with a best of 32.82m (107' 8").
