Men's Track and Field Compete at the Hillsdale "Wide-Track" Classic

HILLSDALE, Mich. -- The Siena Heights men's track and field team finished sixth at the Hillsdale "Wide-Track" Classic, on Friday and Saturday. The Saints finished with three automatic and two provisional performances.

Grand Valley State won the meet with 114 points, while Indiana Tech took second with 107.5 points. SHU finished sixth with 57.5 points. Cornerstone and Concordia, WHAC competitors, also competed in the meet.

In the 400m run, Torin Andreson finished second in 50.92 seconds.

Taking second and third in the 600m dash was Anthony Vermilye and Brent Rodden. Vermilye finished in a provisional-time of 1:22.12 while Rodden crossed the finish line at 1:22.92.

Dominic Muessig earned sixth place in the 800m run with an automatic-qualifying time of 1:55.36.

The Saints took fourth in the distance medley relay with an automatic-qualifying time of 10:17.68. Team members included Rodden, Ryan Dukes, Muessig and Vermilye.

In the pole vault, Jared Kimmitt cleared the bar at an a provisional-height of 4.65 meters (15-3).

Jacob Compagner earned fourth in the weight throw with an automatic-qualifying toss of 17.47m (57 feet, 3 3/4 inches).
