ALLENDALE, Mich. – The Siena Heights men's track and field team finished fourth at the Mike Lints Alumni Open hosted by Grand Valley State, including six automatic-qualifying, two provisional-qualifying and a first place performance, on Saturday. The Saints competed in the Don and Riley Zimmer Classic hosted by Trine on Friday, earning a first place and a provisional-qualifying performance.

Siena Heights again claimed two automatic-qualifying performances in the 800m run. Brent Rodden took first place in 1:51.99 on the oversized track, while Dominic Muessig finished in ninth at 1:54.31.
Jacob Compagner earned second place in the weight throw with a toss of 17.87m (58 feet, 5 inches) for an auto-distance.
The 4x400m relay team consisting of Joshua Miles, Muessig, Torin Anderson and Rodden finished fifth with an automatic-qualifying time of 3:19.61.
Anthony Vermilye earned fifth place in the mile with an automatic-qualifying time of 4:14.79.
In the pole vault, Devonte Johnson cleared an automatic-qualifying height of 4.76m (15 feet, 7 ¼ inches) while Jared Kimmitt cleared 4.61 meters (15-1 ½) for provisional marks.
Finishing in third for the Saints was Ryan Dukes in the 600m run. He crossed the finish line in 1:22.61.
DON & RILEY ZIMMER CLASSIC – Trine – January 27, 2017
Jared Kimmitt earned first place in the pole vault, clearing 4.50m while Joshua Jenkins cleared 4.25 meters for third place. Jenkins also the 60m hurdles in a provisional-time of 8.37 seconds in the preliminary round.
Earning third place in the 800m run was Kyler VanWormer with a time of 2:01.23.
In the weight throw, Robert Drew finished third with a 15.51m toss.
Next up, the Saints will travel to Hillsdale for a two-day meet on Friday and Saturday.
