Men's T&F Find Success at the Otterbein Invitational

WESTERVILLE, Ohio -- The ninth-ranked Siena Heights men's track and field won the Otterbein Twilight Invitational on Friday. A few individuals from the team also competed in the Jesse Owens Invitational hosted by Ohio State, on Saturday. The Saints had six first place performances and four improved automatic and provisional qualifying performances.

Siena Heights finished with 155.5 points while second place finisher Otterbein earned 109 points.

Brent Rodden improved his provisional-time in the 800m, taking first place at 1:53.10.

Gerald Richardson won the high jump by clearing the bar at 2.08 meters.

In the pole vault, Richard DePalma took first place after clearing the vault at 4.86 meters, improving on his previous outdoor performances.

Jacob Compagner threw 53.56 meters in the hammer throw to earn first place and improve his previous season-best toss.

In the javelin throw, Joshua Jenkins earned first by over five meters with a throw of 59.12 meters.

The 4x100m relay team finished in first at 42.09 seconds.

At the Jesse Owens Invitational, the 4x400m relay team finished in fourth place with an improved time of 3:16.63.

The Saints will be back in action when the travel to Hillsdale for the Gina relays starting on Thursday going through Saturday.
