Muessig, DePalma Earn National Titles as Men's T&F Finishes Fourth

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. -- Dominic Muessig and Richard DePalma both took home the Championship title in their events during the final day of the 2016 NAIA Indoor Track & Field National Championships, on Saturday. Four other members of the Siena Heights men's track and field team earned All-American honors. The Saints finished fourth overall.

DePalma won the Championship title after being the lone pole vaulter to clear the bar set at 16 feet, 8.75 inches (5.10m).

Muessig finished the 800 meter run in 1:53.11 to garner the National Champion title. Brent Rodden finished close behind, earning fifth place and All-American honors with a time of 1:55.18.

Another All-American honor goes to Zakary Haines in the 400m dash. Haines finished fourth in 48.56 seconds. 

Frederick Boyd earned fourth place and All-American honors in the 60 meter hurdles after finishing in 8.24 seconds.

The 4x400m relay team finished with its best time of the season, 3:14.79, earning fourth and All-American honors. The team consisted of Haines, Joshua Miles, Juarrezz Smith and Muessig. 

Overall, the Saints finished in fourth place with 47 points. The first place team was Indiana Tech, earning 105 points.
