Boyd, and 4x400 relay win at Hillsdale

Hillsdale, Mich.- The Saints win two events and hit three top qualifying marks for nationals at the Hillsdale Winter Open.

Winning events for the Saints were: Frederick Boyd who won the 60 meter hurdles. He ran the event in 8.37 seconds, hitting the provisional mark for nationals. Also, the 4x400 meter relay team won their event with a time of 3:27.74. That team was composed of Zakary Haines, Joshua Miles, Juarrezz Smith, and Dominic Muessig

Richard DePalma hit the automatic standard for nationals in the pole vault. He cleared 16'8.75" to take second place in the event.

In the shot put, Logan Gray hit the automatic standard with a distance of 52'0" and placed third. Robert Drew followed him in fourth place with a mark of 49'2.25".

Haines and Smith finished fourth and fifth place finish in the 200 meter dash. Haines ran the event in 22.68 and Smith was timed at 22.78.

Muessig took second place in the 600 meter run with a time of 1:22.26. That time is good enough to beat the provisional standard for nationals. He also finished sixth place in the mile run with a time of 4:31.68.

The Saints also had several people place third in their events. Brent Rodden finished third in the 600 meter run with a time of 1:23.09. Austin Elliott took home a third place finish with a time of 2:09.44 in the 800 meter run. The Saints 4x400 relay 'B' team took third with a time of 3:38.18.  Those runners were: Ryan Dukes, Austin Laskowsky, Blaine Ellington, and Rodden.

The Saints will return to action on Friday when they travel to Saginaw Valley State University for the Saginaw Open.
