Five Event Wins at Men's Track & Field Indoor Season Opener

UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. -- The Siena Heights men's indoor track and field team finished the Saginaw Valley Holiday Classic with five first-place finishes, four NAIA automatic-qualifying and five NAIA provisional-qualifying performances.

Joshua Jenkins finished fourth in the 60 meter hurdles with an automatic time of 8.30 seconds. He was followed by Frederick Boyd, finishing with a provisional 8.40 seconds.

The Saints took the top three spots in the 400 meter dash. Zakary Haines took first with a time of 49.69 seconds, followed by Joshua Miles, 50.28 seconds, and Juarrezz Smith, 50.67 seconds.

In the 800 meter run, Dominic Muessing took third, finishing with an auto time of 1:54.08.

Timothy Young took first in the 3000 meter run finishing in 9:18.68. He was followed by second-place performer Kyler Vanwormer, 9:22.31.

The Siena Heights 4x400 team of Haines, Smith, Miles and Muessing were victorious in its event. The foursome won with a automatic time of 3:17.79.

High Jumpers, Tre' Goynes and Gerald Richardson both hit the provisional mark 6-8 (2.03 meters), to tie for second place.

Robert Drew and Logan Gray both threw provisional distances in shot put, 50 feet 10 inches (15.49 meters) and 49 feet 11 inches (15.22 meters), respectively.

Richard DePalma cleared the vault with an auto performance of 15 feet, 5.5 inches (4.71 meters), winning the pole vault event.

Finishing first in the 600 meter run, Brent Rodden ran a time of 1:22.16.
