Aldo Zid is in his 28th season overall as a collegiate soccer coach and the 22nd at Siena Heights University. He graduated from Saint Anselm College (Manchester, New Hampshire) in 1989 with a degree in Political Science and played 4 seasons of varsity NCAA DII soccer as a midfielder/forward for the Hawks.

Zid started coaching as the Assistant Women’s Soccer Coach at his alma mater, Saint Anselm College, immediately after graduation in 1989. In 1991, he was appointed the Head Women’s Soccer Coach and also joined the Saint Anselm men’s ice hockey coaching staff as an Assistant Hockey Coach. During his time as the Hawks soccer coach, his teams won one Northeast-10 Conference championships while earning regional and national ranking in NCAA DII women’s soccer. In 1991, he was awarded the National Soccer Coaches of America (NSCAA) New England Regional Coach of the Year placing among five finalists for the NSCAA National Coach of the Year.

In 1995, Zid began his Siena Heights career by coaching the men’s and women’s soccer teams. From 1995-2000, he coached both teams during the same season. At the end of the 2000 season, he handed the reigns of the women’s program to his then assistant coach, Scott Oliver and remained solely with the men’s team. Oliver continues as the women’s soccer coach today.

During his stint as the SHU women’s soccer coach (95-00), his teams won four Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) championships and competed in the NAIA regional Tournament in each of those seasons. In 1997, he was awarded the WHAC Coach of the Year. While directing the men over the past 22 seasons, his teams have finished third or better in the WHAC 11 times and earned 2nd place 5 times. In 2015, he was named the WHAC Champions of Character Coach.

Zid is also the Dawson Fitness Center Director located in the Fieldhouse.
