ADRIAN, Mich.– The Siena Heights men's soccer team hosted the Cleary University Cougars Saturday evening in O'Laughlin Stadium. The Saints shut out the Cougars in a massive 2-0 win that put the team in an excellent position to enter the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference tournament. Siena is now 4-6-1 in conference play and 6-9-1 overall.

Franco Alves scored his first goal of the season, as did Tobi Mustapha, who scored Siena's second goal of the night. Lewis Crombie earned another assist during the game aiding Alves in his goal. SHU put 10 shots on goal while having 19 total shots during the last regular season game of the year.

Scoring early, Alves beat the Cougars goalkeeper low on the left side of the net after receiving a perfectly placed ball from Crombie. The Saints held off all Cleary advances keeping the team to only four shots with none on goal. The SHU defense would create offensive opportunities that resulted in the second and final goal of the game in the 85th minute by Mustapha after a corner kick from Aidan Bruce dropped into the box.

Quote from Coach:

"Excellent game. On to the next."
