Saints Conquer Warriors in 3-0 WHAC Victory

Rochester, Mich. –  The Siena Heights men's soccer team competed against Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference opponent the Rochester University Warriors on the road Wednesday afternoon. SHU walked away with a massive 3-0 victory, shutting out Rochester to become 2-3-1 in WHAC play.

Finding the back of the net, Seniors Timm Castro (1-3) and Cameron Gouin (1-1) each scored. Sophomore Alex Gregory (1-2) was the third Saint to score, sealing in the three-goal win for Siena. Wilhem Weissheimer earned one assist during the game earning his second point of the season. Ricardo Moreno (W, 4-6-1) made seven saves while seeing all 90:00 minutes of action. In total SHU had nine shots on goal, one corner kick, and 13 total shots.

Drawing first blood Siena scored six minutes into the match jumping to an early lead. After a strong defensive showing and multiple saves from Moreno SHU once again found the netting as the combination of Castro and Weissheimer furthered the lead.

The second half consisted of consistent and steady defense from Siena Heights as they blocked multiple shots to hold off the Warrior's offense. In the 76th minute, Gregory scored after an offensive push from the Saints, that would extend the lead to 3-0. Ending the match with three saves from Moreno and the SHU defense.
