Saints Fall to Madonna

LIVONIA, Mich.– The Siena Heights men's soccer team traveled to take on Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference opponent the Madonna University Crusaders in a Saturday afternoon match. The Saints fell to the Crusaders 1-7 making SHU 1-3-1 in WHAC play.

Freshman, Tiago Moraes found the back of the net for Siena scoring his first collegiate goal. Timm Castro and Matheus Marrote each had shots during the game. While Carlos Musoles earned an assist on Moraes's goal. Jacob Wojciechowski (L, 2-4-0) played all 90:00 minutes of the match and made eight saves.

Scoring early the home team went up 0-3 by the 31st minute. Subbing in near the 26th minute Moraes and Musoles came onto the field with fresh legs and went to work with the Saints offense to net a ball at the time mark 37:04.

SHU struggled against the tough Madonna defense unfortunately falling in a 1-7 loss.

SHU remains on the road as the team travels to Rochester University on Wednesday, October 12th for a WHAC match-up against the Warriors with kickoff set for 1:00 PM.
