SHU Men's Soccer Holds #11 UNOH to Lowest Goal Total of Season

LIMA, Ohio --The Siena Heights men's soccer team competed against the 11th ranked team in the NAIA the University of Northwestern Ohio Racers. After a valiant effort, the Saints fell 0-1, in their first Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference game of the year.

Siena totaled six shots during the game, as Sophomore Alex Gregory and Freshman Mateo Rusca led SHU tallying two shots. As Nolan Chaput and Gaizka Zandio, each held one shot. Ricardo Moreno was in goal for Siena seeing 90:00 minutes of action and made five saves.

The Racers scored early at the 7th-minute mark, taking the lead. The fight for control raged on throughout the rest of the half. Entering the second half SHU saw good looks on the net but unfortunately did not sink the tieing goal. Ending the game with a strong defense, Siena held the Racers to their lowest-scoring win of the season.

"Unbelievable team effort today against the #11 team in the nation on the road. We just couldn't quite find the equalizer in the second half, but we had some good looks."
