Men's Soccer Ends Regular Season With Loss to UNOH

ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Siena Heights men's soccer team fell 6-0 to the University of Northwestern Ohio in the team's regular-season finale inside O'Laughlin Stadium on Saturday afternoon. The Saints (5-72, 2-6-2 WHAC) needed to tie or win to earn a berth into the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) Tournament.

Gustavo Barros recorded all three of the shots on goal for SHU in the losing effort. Jacob Wojciechowski (L, 4-6-1) made seven saves in the afternoon.

The game was close through the first frame with the Racers only up 1-0 as the teams entered the locker room at the half. UNOH held a 10-2 advantage in shots during the opening 45 minutes. Barros registered a shot on goal in the opening minutes, but Rafael Lima made the save to keep the game scoreless. 

The Racers pressed in the second half as they outshot the Saints 18-2 in the half and tallied five goals to earn the win. 

Season Wrap Up

The Saints complete the season with a 5-7-2 record overall and a 2-6-2 mark in league play for 2021. Siena Heights was one game out from qualifying for the WHAC Tournament.
