ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Siena Heights men's soccer team used two second-half goals to move past Cornerstone 2-1 in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) action in O'Laughlin Stadium on Wednesday night. The Saints (4-5-2, 1-4-2 WHAC) earned their first win in league play.

Jacob Wojciechowski (W, 3-4-1) made some big-time saves in the game to keep the Saints in the game and preserve the lead. He finished with nine saves in his 90-minutes of play.

Chaput had a chance to put the Saints ahead 1-0 at the 7:07 mark, but his shot bounce off the crossbar. Cornerstone broke the deadlock with a goal in the 21st minute. Christian Galloway beat his defender and pushed ball past Wojciehowski high to give the visitors the 1-0 lead. Wojciechowski made back-to-back saves minutes later to keep the score at 1-0. He stopped a header in the 35th minute and made another save in the 37th minute to keep SHU in the game. Both teams had eight shots in the first 45 minutes, but the Saints were forced to make four saves to Cornerstone's two.

Another set of back-to-back saves from Wojciechowski in the opening three minutes of the second half kept Cornerstone from extending its lead. Barros then knotted things up with his goal at the 53:12 mark of regulation. The Saints scoring leader made a move past his defender before beating the keeper high for the 1-1 tie. Chaput gave Siena the lead with a shot from outside the box that beat the keeper left and the Saints were ahead 2-1 with just 20 minutes left to play. The Golden Eagles got one final chance to tie things up in the 86th minute but were thwarted by Wojciechowski as the Saints held on for the win.
