ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Siena Heights men's soccer team gave Taylor its first loss of the season in a 2-1 double-overtime win inside O'Laughlin Stadium on Wednesday night. The Saints (3-1) have now won three straight games as they head into conference play this weekend. The Trojans (4-1) suffer their first setback of the season.

Gustavo Barros led the Saints with three points after scoring the goal ahead goal and assisting on the game-winning tally in the second overtime period. Marcelo Rocha scored the goal that ended the contest in the home team's favor. Nolan Chaput tallied an assist on the game's first goal. Jonas Walter tallied three shots, two of which were on goal. Timm Castro registered six shots (two on goal). Matt LeBlanc (W, 1-0) tallied his first win of the season after making six saves in the game.

The score remained deadlocked at zero throughout the first half. The Saints were thwarted by Taylor goalie, Sam Spiegel (L, 0-1) from taking the lead in the first half when he made five saves to preserve the tie. Siena Heights outshot the Trojans 13-4 in the first half and the SHU defense prevented any of Taylor's chances from threatening the goal.

Barros gave the Saints the lead in the 64th minute after a shot off the crossbar bounced to Chaput and he turned a missed shot into an assist as Barros put the ball away for the 1-0 lead. Taylor responded minutes later with a rebound off the post that allowed Quinn Partain to net an unassisted goal in the 68th minute and tie the game at one-all. The Trojans outshot the Saints in the second half 10-6. LeBlanc had to make six saves to force the overtime periods.

SHU press in the first overtime period with three shots, but only challenged on one that required a save as neither team could score the golden goal in the first 10-minute extra period. The tie was finally broken 97:03 into the game when a long chip save Barros chase down the ball and dish a tip pass over to Rocha who put the ball away for the walk-off score.
