Men's Soccer Improves to 2-1 after 3-1 Win at Goshen

GOSHEN, Ind. -- Gustavo Barros scored the game-winning goal in the 58th minute in a 3-1 road win over Goshen on Saturday night. The Saints (2-1) earn their win of the season while the Maple Leafs (3-1-3) experienced their first defeat of the year.

Jonas Walter and Barros were the only two Saints to record a shot on goal for SHU. Goalkeeper Jacob Wojciechowski (W, 2-1) made all three of his saves in the second half to preserve the Saint lead.

Walter gave Siena the 1-0 lead with a goal in the 13th minute of the match. Marcelo Rocha earned the assist on the play. Goshen evened things up with a goal from Lars Razor in the 23rd minute. The Leafs edged the Saints 4-3 in shots and 4-1 in corner kicks in the first half.

The 1-1 tie was broken in the second half with Barros scored his game-winning goal. An own goal by Goshen in the 77th minute gave Siena Heights an insurance point to seal the victory for the visiting team.
