ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Siena Heights men's soccer team scored three straight goals to pull away from Adrian College in a 3-1 victory on Wednesday night inside of Docking Stadium. The Saints (1-1) improve to .500 on the season while the Bulldogs (0-1) begin 2021 with a setback.

Freshman Nolan Chaput tallied his first career goal as a member of the SHU men's soccer team when he beat the AC goalie, Alex Brock (L, 0-1), in the 32nd minute off an assist from Cameron Gouin (Jr. | Davison, Mich.) to put the Saints ahead 1-0. Alex Hanosh (Jr. | Adrian, Mich.) netted what turned out to be the game-winning goal in the 51st minute to increase the lead to 2-0 (both the goal and the game-winner were firsts in his career). The Saints scoring leader for the past two seasons, Gustavo Barros (Sr. | Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul) scored an insurance goal in the 65th minute to gain his first two points of the 2021 season. Justin Sarka prevented the shutout with a penalty kick score for Adrian in the 78th minute.

Siena Heights dominated the Bulldogs 21-6 in shots. SHU also won the corner kick category 8-2. Brock was busy all night as he made eight saves for AC. SHU goalie Jacob Wojciechowski (W, 1-0) (Jr. | Commerce Township, Mich.) had one stop during his 90 minutes.
