HUNTINGTON, Ind. -- The Siena Heights men's soccer team (0-1) opened the 2021 season with a 4-0 defeat on the road at Huntington (2-0) on Tuesday evening.

Jacob Wojciechowski (Jr./Commerce Township, Mich.) (L, 0-1) got the start in net for the Saints and made five saves in the first half to keep the game scoreless as the teams entered the locker room at the half. The Foresters broke the tie at the 59:00 minute mark when Higor Barbiert intercepted a throw-in by Siena Heights, beat a defender, and was able to put the ball in the top right of the net to give Huntington the 1-0 lead.

Barbieri scored the insurance goal for the home side six and half minutes later when Eric Ocock received a pass to the outside and was able to dribble deep into SHU territory before passing to Barbieri in the middle of the box for the goal. The third goal happened off another Siena Heights turnover when Diego Romo intercepted a pass and moved into the top of the box before beating goalie Matt LeBlanc (Fr./Grand Ledge, Mich.) to the lower right corner.

The final goal came in the final 10 seconds when Josh Whitney scored on a penalty kick. The Saints were outshot in the game 24-6. Siena Heights goal-keepers made six saves in the game.
