Men's Soccer Drops WHAC Contest to Lourdes

SYLVANIA, Ohio -- The Siena Heights men's soccer team dropped a 2-0 contest to Lourdes (Ohio) in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference action, on Wednesday.

Lourdes (6-3-1, 1-3-1) opened the scoring in the eighth minute when Jake Kirchoff-Sleet capitalized off of a SHU failed-clear and sent one past Saints' keeper, Leo Hisamatsu.

In the 48th minute, the Siena Heights defense couldn't get the ball out of the box and sent one into the back of the SHU net to finalize the score at 2-0.

The Saints (4-6-1, 1-4-0) fought back but were unable to score, ending with 12 shots including four on frame. Chris Ornelas led SHU with three shots, including two on goal.

Hisamatsu took the loss for the Saints after making five saves. Winning-goalkeeper Jose Cedillo stopped four shots for LU.

Lourdes outshot the Saints, 17-12, while the corner kicks were even at four.

Siena Heights will be back in action on Saturday when the travel to Cornerstone for a 7 p.m. WHAC contest.
