The Siena Heights Men's Soccer Team lost a back and forth battle with Michigan-Dearborn, falling by a score of 4-3.
The lone goal of the first half came off the foot of Rahbar Khan. Khan knocked in a goal from 20 yards out just over 16 minutes into the game.
The game remained 1-0 through the remainder of the first half. A wild five minute time frame occured just under ten minutes into the second half. Michigan-Dearborn's Richard Hodnicki scored on a one touch shot with an assist from Scott Dunford at the 54:17 mark. Less than one minute later, the Wolverines struck again when Matt McCourt was alone on the back post and converted a goal with a header flick off the cross with assists from Jeffrey Drzyzga and Dunford at the 55:14 mark. Just over a minute later the Saints stormed back to tie the game when Khan hit a shot from 25 yards out which found the back of the net at the 56:30 mark.
About four minutes later, Chris Ornelas hit a ball from the wide side which floated into the upper corner of the far post to give the Saints their last lead of the night at the 60:22 mark.
Hodnicki turned out to be the magic man as at the 68:16 mark he headed a ball into the back of the net off a cross from Dunford. The game remained tied until the final minutes. Once again Hodnicki's head found the ball and he knocked it in with just under 1:30 left to play - the assist on the game winner came from Alek Vasilevski.
Leo Hisamatsu made four saves in the net for the Saints. With the loss, Siena Heights falls to 4-5-1 and 1-3 in the WHAC. They will return to action on Wednesday when they travel to Lourdes for a 7 pm matchup.
