FORT WAYNE, Ind. -- A second-half goal by Alexandre Santos lifted the Saints to a 2-1 victory over non-conference opponent Saint Francis (Ind.) on Saturday.
Santos scored the game-winner in the 86th minute, getting an assist from Matt Wilkie.
SHU had gained an early lead in the sixth minute with a goal from Matt Lentine, who was also assisted by Wilkie. The Cougars responded in the 26th minute when Steven Johnson finished a cross from Tyler Sidwell.
The Saints' goalkeeper Leo Hisamatsu earned the win, making three saves. Austyn Fain made seven saves in net for the Cougars.
Siena Heights (5-1-0) outshot the Cougars (0-8-0) 20-7 and held a 5-2 corner-kick advantage.
The men's soccer team will be back in action on Saturday, hosting their first conference match of the season against Concordia.
